Sabina identity....
It is known that in pre-Roman age, on the hills of Sabina, already existed a socially evolved community distributed in different towns with confederative character, like the Etruscan one. The economy in Sabina was essentially rural, unlike the Etruscan one that was mercantile. The two major centres around which orbited the various local centres were Amiterno, on the Apennines, and Cures, in the Tiber Valley. Although very peaceful and sedentary on their lands and for that not really inclined to conquers, people from Sabina knew, also with short notice, how to mobilize the army and fight the enemy invasions. They were led by an acknowledged chief who wanted both Cures and Amiterno. How it can be easily deduced from the ancient  sources mentioned above, the main characteristics of people from Sabina are: a rural vocation, a deep sense of family, an high consideration of woman, a great devotion towards their origins and the proverbial austerity that charmed the Romans since first contacts with this population.
