Collevecchio is a charming village in a wonderful situation, rich in history and witness during the centuries to important architectural works.
As tradition relate, Collevecchio has been created in 1253 when Castel Muziano’s people decided to move on the hilltop, in a site more healthy.
In the XVI century, Blosio Palladio, the most important citizen in the village (architect, humanist, man of letters and Pope’s secretary) helps in start the growing of culture and town planning. In XVII century Collevecchio became heart of the legislative and executive power for Sabina Region. The Pope’s Governor choose the village as seat for over two centuries.
